• I’ve almost reached my book goal. Looks like I’m going to have to start watching more movies. I got two more done this weekend. I watched Safe haven and the Dark Knight Rises. Both were great movies. Still need to finish my major of classic books.

  • I’m currently reading Treasure Island along with two other books. I’ve been trying to watch more movies so the reading is slowing down quite a bit. I’m currently at 43 books and 23 movies I think. Trying to get in my five books for my major which is classics. I’m on four with Treasure Island. I’m thinking of reading To Kill a Mockingbird next.

So, I’m almost to the end of Mated. Great book! My only complaint is that Elise, being a lycan, should listen to her instincts more! It was so frustrating reading about her knowing there was something wrong, but not trusting herself enough to question it. Other than that, I thought the book was great. Thanks for the tip!

I downloaded Mated by Nicky Charles the other day. I haven’t started it yet. I’ll let you know what I think when I’m done. I’ve never read her before but it sounds interesting.

I finally finished The Scarlett Letter. It took me almost two weeks! I chose classics as my major to get away from my usual reading. The Scarlett Letter was the hardest for me to read so far. The next one I’m thinking of reading is Treasure Island. That would be the fourth classic for me. Any suggestions on a couple more?

    • I was just lurking your reading list, and you are so close to the goal. I am hoping to hit half way this month myself but cannot decide what to start next. I might start The Lost Gate By Orson Scott Card.

  • Just finished reading Gone Girl this morning. Hmmmmm. Thought provoking book. Not sure I enjoyed the ending though. It does make you question what some people are willing to do for revenge. Anybody else read this book and have comments? I can’t say I loved it, but it definitely kept me intrigued. I will say I was slightly disappointed in the…[Read more]

  • I’m up to 31 books and 12 movies. The reading might be slowing down because I will be coaching my daughters’ softball team this spring. I need to pick up the pace on some movies. I finally picked a major. I’m reading some of the classics. I have read Pride and Prejudice and the Great Gatsby so far. Watched two Pride and Prejudice movies and the…[Read more]

  • In the process of reading Pride and Prejudice. Trying to challenge myself by reading some classics this year. Next on the classic list? The Great Gatsby.

Sometimes when I’m stuck on a book like that, I grab a super quick, easy and entertaining read, just to give me something else. Then I alternate between the two. A chapter or two of each, just to help me finish.

  • Up to 24 books for the year. I’m almost halfway! Of course I’m totally slacking in the movie department. Maybe next weekend I’ll try to watch a few. Any suggestions?

In reply to: Maggie posted an update I need to stop browsing the free book sections in ibooks! I have a long list of TBR’s on my iPod, trying to power read 3 at a time. View

I also ready a lot of the free books. I can only read one at a time though, otherwise I get too confused on characters. Unless the stories are completely different. Like a historical romance, and then a contemporary vampire story or something.

  • Have now seen 10 movies, and finished 20 books! Read The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox and was not impressed at all. Not only was the story somewhat depressing and slow, it also had a terrible ending! I sooooooo do not recommend that book!

  • Finished The Host by Stephanie Myers this week. Great book! That makes number 18! Of course I’ve only watched seven movies. I better get on it I guess.

Were those books that you would recommend? What were they about? How about the movies?

Just added the book of lost things to my list! Thanks for the input.
